I grew up enjoying the pleasures of coast and country. The beautiful Grange beach was the safe haven of my childhood, and I was fortunate enough to spend many school holidays in South Australia’s Mallee region.
Considered a Tom Boy as a young girl, my love for outdoor adventures has never waned. No matter where I am in the world, I still love finding critters!!

I have lived in regional Australia, in Whyalla for a short time and then Ceduna on the Far West Coast of South Australia for nearly 20 years. It was here that I raised my two beautiful girls and truly discovered the rewards that country, coast and community can bring to life.

My adventures have taken me into many isolated regions, but Antarctica and camping on the ice would be the pinnacle so far.

My passion for travel and adventures helps me understand just what travellers are looking for. My years in paid employment allow me to recognise that sometimes all people need is some time out. My love of nature has taught me that a peaceful bush environment can do all of this.

Through Amble I can combine all that I’ve learnt and all that I love into a rewarding career and business.

I was born in the back of a Ford Prefect opposite the Gumeracha Weir right here in the Adelaide Hills. I grew up on an apple orchard and spent my early years discovering the Adelaide Hills like only a young lad can.

I have worked as a ski instructor in Canada and had the good fortune to ski with some of the best skiers in the world – from the Australian and Canadian Olympic teams. One day I’d love to be strapped into a bobsled and hurtled down the track!

Another of my pastimes is golf and I’ve caddied for both local amateur and professional golfers. It’s the reason the Amble suite of venues includes Amble Summit which overlooks Mt Barker Golf Club.

My greatest passion, however, is Mother Nature. I have always enjoyed how you can lose yourself in the wonder of the scrub, trees, gardens and all the wildlife that call it home. I love to feed the birds and jump like a school boy when

I see the endangered black cockatoos fly overhead.

I’ve lived and worked in many places, but will always call Adelaide home. Our lifestyle, especially, the life we lead in Hahndorf is truly magnificent. The local produce is extraordinary, the sense of community is so welcoming and the environment is truly special.

So, thanks to my boyhood antics in the region and my appetite for fine local food I can offer our guests a guide to the many wonderful secrets hidden in the Adelaide Hills.

My favourites: Vanilla Gelato from Cocolat Kitchen in Balhannah, dinner at Bistro 25 in Hahndorf and wine and cheese with friends at Somerled cellar door in Hahndorf.
